Sundays are, without a doubt, my favourite day of the week. And today has been a particularly lovely one, spent on the sofa eating too much chocolate in comfy clothes and enjoying the chance to read this month’s glossies.
Elle is my favourite monthly magazine to read, I never miss an issue. And this month’s (with Dakota Fanning as it’s cover star) has made for the perfect accompaniment to my lazy Sunday.
Within the first few pages of the magazine came an image from the Louis Vuitton S/S 2012 campaign. The gorgeous, sugary sweet image (not unlike the one pictured above) caught my eye for a few reasons. The pretty pastel colours made a lovely contrast to the (equally gorgeous) Chanel images that came before them, the beautiful white dresses with their sweet peter pan collars, but what really made me look was the tiara that the models were wearing.
As someone who loves every opportunity to indulge my girly side, the sight of a tiara on the pages of my favourite magazine made me very happy.
Though most often associated with brides or little girls, the Louis Vuitton campaign, and catwalk shows could mean that girls such as myself, who enjoy all things sparkly, can think about adding a tiara to their accessory collections this spring.
Teamed with tumbling waves, or a chic up-do, a tiara could be just the item to make sure that your look stands out this spring. Though there is an alternative for those who aren’t feeling brave enough to wear one…
A sparkly headband will add just as much fun and glamour to your ensemble, but with a low-key impact.
A tiara or headband will look gorgeous with a frothy, vintage inspired look, such as those that Marc Jacobs created for Dior, but could equally be teamed with your favourite jeans and heels for a fun, quirky look.
If you are seeking inspiration, Zooey Deschanel is someone who carries off this look (and lots of others!) perfectly…

I’m not sure I’d be brave enough to wear a tiara out (although I’d secretly really like to!) but I will definitely be rocking a sparkly hairband this spring!
