Twenty three of Style Academy’s most beautiful models are set to take to a catwalk like no other this Friday, stepping out on custom built 150 foot runway which stretches out over the Lagan at El Divino, Belfast.
The fashion event, which will be hosted by El Divino and Style Academy, with support from Toni & Guy, Pommery Pop Champagne, Asahi Beer and Sugahfix.com, is a first for Belfast’s fashion scene, where models will be walking on water.
This unique fashion show will showcase new and unseen work of 12 of Northern Ireland’s fashion designers as well as a series of one-off pieces by 20 fashion stars of the future whose creations have been individually selected for this highly anticipated event.
Menswear will come exclusively from theStyle Gallery in Lisburn and the show will close with an international catwalk collection.
Guests can also look forward to water related stunts and a few more surprises with presenter and voice of the recent MTV EMA, John Kearns, hosting the event.
Style Academy boss Tracey Hall said “This is a truly unique fashion event for Belfast, in an exciting developing area of Belfast on the River Lagan, and it is one that I have no doubt will grow to become a stand out event on the Irish fashion calendar.
“Working with El Divino and Toni & Guy teams we wanted to make this event truly creative in terms of the show that we produce and thequality of the work of the designers. Having offered the opportunity for local designers to come up with creative and innovative designs for the show, we have been inundated with submissions and the judging panel has selected 12 key collections as well as individual pieces from 20 University of Ulster design students, to showcase.”
It has been announced that the El Divino event will also feature special guest star DJ Henry Holland. The House of Holland designer will be playing his own blend of catwalk beats, promising an eclectic array of pop and electro, sure to get those fashionable feet moving!
“It is very exciting to have the one and only Henry Holland come and DJ at the El Divino Fashion Walking on Water after Party!,” said El Divino PR Manager Marian Mawhinney. “Henry has played at some of the best clubs and fashion parties around the world so we are very excited to hear him play and show him the great and innovative talented local designers we have in Northern Ireland.
